About ANAMS
ANAMS (Anti-Narcotic and Alcoholic Missionary Service) is a service agency that focuses on people with addiction. At ANAMS, we focus on a holistic approach in liberating people from the bondage of addiction.
We believe that true transformation is accomplished by addressing the deeper issues of the heart, which leads to a spiritual transformation as well, rooted in Biblical truths, leading one to a full surrender of the ‘old’ and embracing the ‘new’.
We believe that secular programs or exercising of ‘self‘-control, always falls short in the long run, and cannot sustain anyone in an addiction-free condition. Hence, a ‘permanent’ change in oneself can be sustained only with Divine transformation. The Biblical principle on transformation is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17. – i.e. one can only be liberated through the all-sufficient blood of Jesus Christ and acceptance of the new life which only He can offer.
“Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation, old has passed away behold, all things have become new." - 2 Cor 5:17
The Need
Addiction is a complex condition, an illness that is manifested by compulsive substance use, despite their harmful consequences. People with addiction (chronic substance abuse) have an intense focus on using certain substance(s), such as alcohol or drugs, to the point that where it inundates their life. They keep using alcohol or drugs, even when they know it will cause problems.
Our Vision
ANAMS Foundation wants to be recognized by the society as a change agent for liberating people from the bondage of addiction, by transforming lives to be productive and responsible individuals contributing back to the society.
Our Mission
ANAMS aims to work with people in addiction and restore their lives with a holistic approach, and enable them to make their family sustainable by helping them work towards a purposeful and meaningful life.
Our Approach
ANAMS believes addiction of any kind is only a symptom; while the root problem can be a deeper issue of the heart. ANAMS desires that local Churches and NGO’s make efforts to understand the situation and pains of those in addiction in their ‘entirety’. That will then allow effective efforts to restore their lives through interventions that includes holistic approaches, and most importantly, spiritual interventions to release them from the bondage. ANAMS wishes to use advocacy as a strategy to talk on behalf of the people who are in bondage of addiction.
